150th Birthday Celebrations

During the week of 23rd June 2025, we will be celebrating our school’s 150th birthday. To mark this celebration, the children will be finding out about our school 150 years ago and comparing it to now. During this week we have a few specific celebrations to share with you.

Monday 23rd June 2025: ex-members of the Worlebury St Paul’s community, including the Mayor of Weston-super-Mare, have been invited to attend a cream tea served by our Year 5 pupils. During this visit, the children will be gathering their memories to share with the rest of the school. We will also be unveiling our 150th birthday commemorative pebble garden.

Wednesday 25th June 2025: Reverend Gail will be leading a special service for all the children at St Paul’s Church. We ask that all children are dropped off at St Paul’s Church between 8.30 and 8.50am. We will then walk back to the school after the church service. I would strongly encourage car-sharing or walking to reduce the traffic congestion. Please speak to your child’s classteacher if your child will be attending breakfast club and cannot be dropped off and if you may be able to help walk the children back to school after the service.

Thursday 26th June 2025, 9.40am: Our special family worship will start later than usual and will include a special service lead by the children along with our special visitors, Bishop Michael and the Mayor of Weston-super-Mare. Parent/carers are invited to attend as would normally be with a family worship. After our service, we will formally unveil what will be our newly completed mural, jointly designed by the children of Worlebury St Paul’s and local artist Martin D’Arcy.

Thursday 26th June 2025, 2.30pm onwards: parent/carers are invited to come and see our 150th birthday celebration exhibition in the school hall.

We are very much looking forward to marking our very special birthday with the children and our Worlebury St Paul’s community.

A great big thank you to Berry, Redmond, Gordon and Penney Solicitors for a donation of £50 towards our Martin D'Arcy 150th Birthday Mural!
